Gdansk University of Technology Seniors in Grundtvig Partnership Projects, 2008-2010

Participation in the international group of seniors discussing on various topics was a challenge for me. The level of English language in such a group is different, so you need to listen intently to understand. This was for me not only a foreign language lesson but the experience with the ability to communicate, learning how to teach seniors. Big surprise for me was the host institution Arbis - institution training seniors, giving great opportunities and fund from the city budget (foreign languages, computer courses, developing interests, gymnastics, dancing etc...). I had the opportunity to participate in dance class and feel the impact of music and movement for senior’s well-being.

Roma

I had possibility to see Oldery Centre in Roma, the place to spend time with friends, developing their hoobies. I try to get know the level of senior’s life in Italy. I had the chance to know of the flavors of Italian cuisine - traditional dishes and culture of the country, where people coexisting in symbiosis with tourists are friendly and celebrating life ....it was chance for me and lesson. Thank you.

Skurup

Visit the southern region of Sweden - Skane (Ystad, Malme), beautiful place to live. Clean environment, peace of Swedish province are delighting and Swedish friends at the third meeting came in to be very friendly, caring, hard-working and hospitable nation. Our booking at the student’s hostel made a great impression on me, it was very comfortable better than a hotel.

Learning foreign languages, learning new cultures and gaining new friends.
You don’t need better motivation to learn foreign languages than personal relations. The friendship and contacts will be continued after the project. It is a measurable benefit - fraternization of different nations - also available for seniors.
